St. Paul Secondary fills fishing boat with close to 1,200 food items

To borrow a phrase from a popular movie, St. Paul Secondary School may need a bigger boat next year.
This was a phrase used last year after the 1st annual Fill a Fishing Boat event. St. Paul’s Fishing Club and students from the Mississauga high school have been filling a fishing boat with non-perishable food items the last couple of weeks.

By Thursday, Oct. 3rd, the boat was filled with close to 1,200 items, which were donated to St. Dominic’s Church in support of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul.

Dave Powers has been running St. Paul’s Fishing Club for a few years and it has over 80 students and counting. Legend Boats of Barrie is overwhelmed by the combined efforts of the fishing club, students and teachers to promote this event. Henry Nguyen from Legend Boats says. “We are so fortunate to help provide a boat that students can use to fill with items for the community”

Great Job on everyones part and Legend Boats of Barrie looks forward to next years food drive.
